Football Manager 2013: Arsenal home, away and third 3D match engine kits

These are exclusive pixel-perfect Arsenal 3D textures for Football Manager 2013, allowing you to get accurate kits when watching games in the 3D match engine. The kits have all logos, accurate colours and patterns, and has faux player names and short numbers for added realism. Save game compatible (no need to start a new save) and super easy to install.

Highly detailed 3D textures

You won’t find these kits anywhere else, and you definitely won’t find 3D kits with this much detail. They even have the ‘Chapman WM’ graphic below the neck collar, and the correct font for the ‘Arsenal’ text on the socks. Not that you’ll be able to see that during a game of FM, but still…

1. Download the zip file (69KB), unzip to anywhere.

2. Put the ‘pictures’ folder inside (My) Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2013/graphics/

3. If you don’t have a folder called ‘graphics’ in that directory, just create it.

4. If Football Manager is running, re-start (reloading skin won’t work).

Bonus download – Logo superpack
This superpack zip file contains all competition, club and nation logos – including every league from England to Bermuda (yes, really). We’re unsure of the origins of this superpack, we’ve been adding to it for years. If you know who created it, let us know! Instructions to install the logos:

1. Download the zip file (178MB), unzip to anywhere.

2. Put the ‘logos’ folder inside (My) Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2013/graphics/

3. If you don’t have a folder called ‘graphics’ in that directory, just create it.

4. Load a saved game, or start a new one.

Bonus download – Data correction files
We also have save game compatible database files to correct competition and club names (“Champions Cup” becomes “UEFA Champions League”, “FCP” becomes “Porto”, and so on) + a fix for the fake national teams (so Germany and Japan correctly call up real players). Sports Interactive doesn’t have the licenses for all teams and competitions, so to get around it we replace some program files. Instructions to install:

1. Download the zip file (6KB), unzip to anywhere.

2. Put the three .lnc files in the following directory:
Windows: Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/football manager 2012/data/db/1300/lnc/
OS X: Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/football manager 2012/data/db/1300/lnc

3. In that directory you’ll also find a folder called ‘All’ – delete this folder

4. Load a saved game, or start a new one.

Bonus download – Arsenal 2D kits
These are 2D kits for the club overview screen, based on the excellent ‘FbKits’ style originally created by FM graphics guru trbngr. 2012-2013 home, away and third kits included. Instructions to install:

1. Download the zip file (366KB), unzip to anywhere.

2. Put the ‘kits’ folder inside (My) Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2013/graphics/

Just one thing, if i install the data correction files , will this affect my multiplayer games at all? Hoping to play my Little sister and my cousin online.

No no, the data files are only cosmetic changes and won’t change any databases or anything. You can remove them from the folder at any time and your saved games will go back to using the wrong competition names. =)

Hi Techau, i know you used to create real tactic based on Arsenal team the past few years.

Can you create one for FM 2013,

I would prefer it to be based on real life that Arteta (average 94 pass per game ) & Cazorla (average 72 pass per game)

are the dictators of the game , alongside one of Diaby/Wilshere as a dribbler from midfield.

But the front line , especially the wingers should be altered such that they doesnt act so cowardly, midfielder-like, and

do perform some take-ons.

It would be a 4-2-3-1 with 2MC and 1 AMC.

And it should be effective enough to succeed in the game.

Posssesion based with Clear cut chances and solid defending.

I haven’t spent much time with FM2013 this year, but the little I did I wasn’t able to create any possession-based tactics at all. In fact, my last game was against Southampton and they had 61% possession. =P

If you want to dominate possession in FM2013 , then don’t play an AM.Am will hardly touch the ball. Play a holding DM instead. This will prevent counter attacks, plus the DM can switch the play and intercept passes too. I tried using the formation you have above and it was sh*t and didn’t work. 2CM and 1 DM is much better. With one CM being a AP, one a BBM and the DM set to DLP. (Anchor man is another possiblity though).

After some more experimenting it would seem possession football is somewhat random, as my tactical instructions wield completely different possession results from reload to reload (the same match). The obvious slow speed short passing helps, but my accuracy ranged between 50% to 90% over 20 test games, directly impacting the possession.

It’s also worth noting that Football Manager logs possession in a chess clock approach, whilst real-life data collectors use algorithms based on actions. Opta uses amount of passes to calculate possession, for example.

The most successful tactic I’ve had with Arsenal so far has been a 3-4-1-2:

Szczesny
Koscielny (d) – Mertesacker (stopper) – Dedé (d)
Ox (winger) – Tioté (bwm) – Wilshere (dlpm) – Schurrle (winger)
Cazorla (advpm)
Giroud (complete) – Walcott (poacher)

The idea is that Mertesacker pushes up to intercept attacks, while the two quicker central defenders sweep up behind him. Ox and Schurrle have high work rates and takes care of the flanks. The Giroud/Walcott partnership works well, with Giroud constantly serving through balls for Theo.

I get pretty good possession stats, but again it’s quite random.

Brilliant textures for the match models. Bright and sharp colours make the arsenal players look much more realistic than the other ones i’ve downloaded (which makes all team kits look dull). Though my design philosophy when it comes to recreating real life subjects is to make it look dark and gritty (mud, sweat etc.), your textures match up perfectly to those team kits that have not been given a real life jersey, as by default they are overly bright etc.

It’s a shame really how people don’t do things this way as all other kits that have been made by the devs and the player modded ones don’t follow your style but are darker (not good for reasons above). Furthermore, very nice touch on the player name at the back (again, why didnt the devs think of that?). Sadly after downloading the other player mods, I won’t be using yours as I don’t want only arsenal to stand out because of brilliant textures (it ruins immersion). Maybe someday I will get around to modding the whole premier league (and other leagues) using yours as a template.
