Messi's always been pretty wank at pens to be fair, Gonz however builds his goal tallies for the season with them though.

Never thought I would say this, but lamppost > higuain. Not worth the money for a negligible upgrade over lamppost. Rather see the money spent on stones. Not only would he provide an immediate upgrade in the back 4, the other big clubs in the prem would be denied the opportunity to get him.

Your Higuain fetish is scary.

He has scored 18 goals in 19 games. He has a (rare positive) 1.009 goals per 90 ratio, way above Lionel Messi (0.83), Suarez (0.88) and Ronaldo (0.73)...and slightly above Neymar (0.93) and Gareth Bale (0.96). In fact the only player I could find with a better return is Benzema with 1.22 goals per 90, which is just ridiculous...but worth remembering that Higuain isn't exactly playing in a team like Real Madrid.

How many pens has he scored

Time for some mythbusting: Higuain has scored only one penalty in the league, so 1/18 of his goals has been a penalty. For Messi it's 1/9, for Neymar it's 3/15, for Ronaldo it's 4/14.

Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar all have scored more penalties per 90, making Higuain's positive metric even more impressive. Not only that, Higauin has more goals per shot attempt than Messi and Ronaldo, and a higher shot accuracy than Neymar, Ronaldo and Suarez.

Keep in mind that Higuain is not surrounded by world class players who can serve him the same quality passes that the aforementioned Barca and Real players are receiving. Higuain plays for a third-tier team in a highly defensive league and still outshines the big boys in leagues where scoring is much easier.

Surprising as I can swear that Higuain last season took most of Napoli's pens? Who takes them now? Hamsik? Insigne?

To be fair Insigne has been on fire this year, he's been Napoli's best player I think and their midfield isn't too bad. Gonz, Hamsik, Insigne, Jorginho, Gabbiadini & Callejon are all great options in terms of playmaking and finishing chances

Sure, but it's still nowhere close to the service Suarez, Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi or Benzema is getting. Higuain plays against better opponents weekly, in a notoriously harder league to score in, and with half the quality those other strikers are fortunate to play with. And he still outperforms them in every important metric.
