2017-2018 Summer Transfer Window

Posted by Ix Techau about 7 years ago · 461 replies

Squad rules terminology refresher:

  • We can register up to 25 players who are over 21
  • We can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players
  • Homegrown player means 36 months spent in England before end of season in which they turn 21
  • U21 player means any player born on or after January 1st 1996
  • U21 players don't have to be registered in order to play, which means we can have as many as we want

Confirmed transfers in/out:

  • Lacazette has signed for a club record £46m initial fee
  • Sanogo left on a free transfer on June 30th
  • Kolasinac joined on a free transfer on July 1st
  • Ospina has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Lucas Perez has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus for £10m

Likely transfers in/out:

  • Debuchy leaving has been on the cards for some time
  • Jenkinson could go on another season-long loan or permanent move
  • Unless said in jest, Wenger did say he wants to bid on Mahrez

Reading some of the suggestions that were posted here... Looks like Arsenalreport has finally gone full retard. Bring back Cesc? Young players will look up to him? To who? The cunt who stabbed us in the back? Cretins.

Is it possible that Arsenal have been in talks with Lemar's agent, and that they have agreed that 90k a week is fair IF he goes to Arsenal. I could be wrong, but it would seem like that's possible.

Highly against tapping up rules. I know everyone says "everyone does it, happens all the time", but I actually think it happens WAY less than people think. Few clubs are willing to take the risk of ending up like Atletico with a transfer ban.

Yeah, a transfer ban is the last thing we need right now

I'd love him. We definitely need more strong depth in the CB position

Huh i had the opposite opinion on him but I will trust your all-powerful wisdom on this one. Don't think he'd fit well into the system anyway

Oh, how I wish Wenger could have shown Bonucci the great hospitals in London for children. Heard that was the reason he is staying in Italy, despite moving to a rival. Would have loved him in our defense.

That's exactly what i thought. I didn't think any of Juve's BBC would leave, but now that bonucci has, I wish we pursued him a bit more

He had better options in England (ManCity, Chelsea) than us.. so he's not an easy target for us..

We should target one of Van Dijk, Smalling, Kostas Manolas

Arsenal have entered the race with Manchester United to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea, according to reports in Italy.

Sampdoria want Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and are willing to offer the Gunners £9million to take him to Serie A.

Enquiries have been made about Wilshere’s availability but Sampdoria fear their valuation may be short of what Arsenal want, according to the Daily Mail.

The England international is now moving into the final 12 months of his contract with no sign of a new deal on the horizon.

SMALLING TO BE SOLD BY MAN UTD

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given the green light for Chris Smalling to be sold during the transfer window, reports The Sun .

Mourinho has already signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer and is keen to further improve his defensive options before the end of August.

That is likely to spell the end of Smalling’s seven-year United career, with Arsenal and West Brom among the clubs to be linked with a bid for the England international.

Di Marzio is pretty God Tier all things Italy.

Expecting Wilsh, Szczesny, Ospina, Chambers, Debuchy, Joel Campbell, Lucas and Jenks all to go. Would love to keep Szczesny but the rest I couldn't really give a fuck about anymore.

Also would love for Theo to finally fuck off and maybe Giroud might leave as well, but I'd like to keep him as an impact sub

Need to get rid of a lot of players to fit two new signings. Squad is huge at the moment, 31 players in need of registration out of 25 allowed and 18 non-homegrown out of 17 allowed.Ospina, Perez, Debuchy, Jenkinson and Campbell are most likely to leave, with Szczesny and Wilshere also possible. Cazorla is out long-term so no reason to register him until January. We need all those players to leave in order to fit two new non-homegrown non-U21 players.

I see, but the team is not obliged to register everybody in the team, isn't it? Of course, it'd be a huge problem to see Debuchy et al at the team for one more year, but it's likely as no team is prepared to pay his/their wage demands all around the world.
