Posted by Ix Techau about 7 years ago · 461 replies

Squad rules terminology refresher:

  • We can register up to 25 players who are over 21
  • We can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players
  • Homegrown player means 36 months spent in England before end of season in which they turn 21
  • U21 player means any player born on or after January 1st 1996
  • U21 players don't have to be registered in order to play, which means we can have as many as we want

Confirmed transfers in/out:

  • Lacazette has signed for a club record £46m initial fee
  • Sanogo left on a free transfer on June 30th
  • Kolasinac joined on a free transfer on July 1st
  • Ospina has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Lucas Perez has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus for £10m

Likely transfers in/out:

  • Debuchy leaving has been on the cards for some time
  • Jenkinson could go on another season-long loan or permanent move
  • Unless said in jest, Wenger did say he wants to bid on Mahrez

Reading some of the suggestions that were posted here... Looks like Arsenalreport has finally gone full retard. Bring back Cesc? Young players will look up to him? To who? The cunt who stabbed us in the back? Cretins.

I really don't understand the thinking. Perez hasn't even been given a chance to show us if he's good enough or not. I'd give him 10 games starting as a CF and see what happens.

He should have started in atleast all the cup games this season, which also didn't happen... Its a pity to lose such a player who is underrated but not given enough chance to prove himself...

getting business done in may is great. have the squad assembled by the end of july, and work on actually developing as a team once the season begins.

Prepare early and we have a lower chance of having a panic buy that turns out to be a flop.

We may expect some panic buy this summer, if Alexis/Ozil don't extend their contracts... as huge competition in place for all the top talents and we are popular in balking at paying top price..

For me, I want Arsenal to get some of the few listed ASAP: Leon Goretzka, Jean Michael Seri, Corentin Tolisso, Jerome Boateng, Alexandre Lacazette, and/or Thierry Henry.

Thierry Henry aka Kylian Mbappé ???

I forgot to put Mbappe there. But also, don't you guys want Henry back at Arsenal next to Wenger to help inspire the squad? I didn't put him in as a player. I put him in for an assistant manager.

Here's an idea how about we bring in a new manager who has some ambition for the club other than top 4. A board that doesn't just stand by and let the manager have complete autocratic rule over the whole club.

I think we need a ruthless board and a new manager or else we'll keep declining and the fans we'll just have to be satisfied with making the champions league and being knocked by top clubs like Bayern in the quarter-finals every year.

I know right

The board is not very good at keeping things checked and balanced. They gave Wenger too much freedom and Wenger hasn't done the best with it. If we had Abramovich, Arsenal would be doing so much better.

At Arsenal, I think they should consider targeting Davison Sanchez from Ajax. At 20, he is already doing well at the club and is having a great run in the Europa League where he will face Man Utd. for the Cup Final.

He is still under the radar and could possibly be one of the best.

USMANOV ATTEMPTS ARSENAL TAKEOVER

Uzbek-born billionaire Alisher Usmanov has attempted to take control of Arsenal from major shareholder Stan Kroenke, according to the Financial Times .

The metal magnate currently owns 30 per cent of the London club, and has offered Kroenke £1 billion to buy the American's 67 per cent stake. Kroenke has been involved with Arsenal since 2007 and is unwilling to sell his share to Usmanov.

That is movement. With Usmanov taking more control, he will actually push the club instead of keeping it the same because you are just in for the money.

Perhaps, Kroenke will lose some money from Europa League and will decide to give in to the deal.
