MatchDay: Stoke Vs Arsenal

Posted by AWassist about 8 years ago · 19 replies

Second rugby match of the season for Arsenal. Fortunately for Arsenal they do not play that dirty game they used to play under Pulis but still a tough fixture.

I would like to see same team that played against Liverpool just rest Flamini and play Chambers instead and if possible play Gabriel and give some rest to Kos

Well we need to win there again one day.

Cech; Bellerin - Mert - Kos - Nacho; Elneny - Ramsey; Campbell - Özil - Theo; Giroud

Wouldn't be surprised to see Gabs.

I don't have much fate that Stoke wont kick us out of the pitch.Look at Southampton, the moment they heard they play Arsenal, they transformed in brutes from hell.

Last few games Theo is awful he better wake up and give us good performance here.

They're gonna put two markers on Ozil and foul, kick and shove him over whenever he has the ball. Or sometimes when he doesn't. And mostly get away with it.

Big Dean mate. Seems he was right and we put out our worst starting XI in the Prem since the banter era

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Mertesaker, Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Flamini, Campbell, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Giroud

Subs: Gibbs, Gabriel, Arteta, Ospina, Elneny, Iwobi, Chambers.

This is good starting XI, problem is we dont have bench if this guys dont perform.

It's a shit starting XI cause there's no creativity in the team whatsoever

Would be surprised if we beat Stoke in terms of possession

Donno what you banging on. The quality is there. We have penetration from everywhere. Question is, will Arsenal players show up.

Oh, and:

Decent performance from us. They were without any chances until late in the game and we had 2 very good chances to take the lead both falling to Giroud. Away at Stoke with so many of our creative players out I'm very happy with that performance.

Agreed, the only thing lacking was someone to make that killer pass. We defended well, even when trying to score and pushing people up, and the attack was just lacking that link play. 4-3-3 is such a direct shape, it needs long vertical through passes and players constantly bombarding down the channels.

Also I'm quite happy that Stoke no longer employ much tougher tactics than any other team. In comparison to their "good old days" this lot was pretty timid.
