Matchday Thread - Arsenal vs Manchester City- 21 December 2015

This is it, the game that will shape the opinion about us as title challengers. We are in better form then City, but we miss lot of players compare to them. They have Aguero back, but Kompany is out. There is chance Alexis to be fit, and even half fit Alexis should bein starting XI and replace Cambell(he did fantastic). But, for now as it stand Whoscored prediction (not really hard) of starting XI is the best we can get.

Arsenal vs MC starting XI

Arsenal have scored 11 goals in seven home games so far, while City are without an away league goal since September

This is Interesting statistic that should give us hope. Victory will be sweet, but even draw can be good as long as we maintain good form and take 3 points from rest of the games in 2015.

Cech; Bellerin - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Nacho; Ramsey - Flamini; Walcott - Özil - Alexis; Giroud

With Le Coq and Santi Injured, Rambo in the middle and offense of ManC i would like us to play, Joel rather than Theo. Joel and Alexis both get back and help defenders more than Theo does, but i want us to strain Alexis either. So my preferred lineup would be.

Cech, Hector, Gabriel, Koscilny, Nacho, Flamini Ramsey, Joel Ozil Theo, Giroud,

Bring on Alexis for Theo at 60 minutes and sub Ox for Joel at 70.

Cech will break the record here. I would say it could get on his mind and affect his performance but he's Cech. I'd consider Theo upfront but only if Alexis doesn't start.

Not sure we should remove Giroud in the form he is, and wont be fer. Dont see City dominate us in possession at Emirates. people take example of one game on Etihad , when the last few games we were much better or even. Theo can work his counter from right, central or right he keep doing the diagonal runs. On Etihad we won with collective defence, nothing stop us to do the same here, if needed.

We've never had a fear factor against City like we do against Chelsea & United. This will be a very open game. 2-2 is my prediction

The greatest team, the world has ever seen: Cech - Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal - Flamini, Ramsey - Walcott, Özil, Campbell - Giroud.

VS

Oil Money: Hart; Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov; Toure, Fernandinho; Delph, Silva, De Bruyne; Aguero.

Time to rise up Arsenal!

Aww yiss, could've been a blowout if we'd finished some of those gilt edged chances!

Also pretty telling that the moment Ozil comes off, we lose control of our passing in midfield.

I dunno why technical team like us give up possession so easy. Flamini did great closing down Silva, Ramsey did great marking Toure for most of the game, but he messed up for the goal.

They didn't made much, even with the pressure they applied last 20 min remind me of the game at Etihad.

Max points is all we should care about, and we got them.

Because Wenger is actually adapting to the opposition this year. Man City have struggled massively away this season, let them have the ball and we've got a brigade of about 4/5 players who can score at the other end

He has been doing it for a while, We have the quality players to know their role and do justice to it.

Sad that we missed few sitters today else core would have been 4-0 easily as Ix mentioned above.

Yaya's shot had one of the weirdest trajectory I've ever seen. Freak goal. If not for that Cech would have broken the record. Such a shame.

We were as wasteful in the 2nd half as we were clinical in the first. Should have been a good 3 or 4-0 in the 2nd half.
