My beloved Cazorla <3

Posted by TopTopQuality over 7 years ago · 124 replies

Over the last few seasons I've heard some wankers saying that they'd start Wilshere or Ramsey ahead of Cazorla. Them 2 are not worth Cazorla's one toe.

In this current squad Cazorla is irreplaceable.

Last season his injury cost Arsenal the title. If he gets a long-term injury this season again, Arsenal won't win the title either.

The closest to Cazorla midfielder quality-wise is Xhaka. He can make a pass from deep that can create a good chance. I suppose some combination of El Neni and Xhaka can compensate for Cazorla's absense to an extent.

But to suggest that Ramsey is anywhere near as good as Cazorla is a sign of extreme stupidity. Ramsey should be sold to Everton, where he belongs. That's his level.

And the reson why that season was his best is because he scored lots of goals. Thatproves my point even more. It's not the job of a central midfielder to always be in opposition box and score goals.

He could do that because he had Cazorla and Arteta playing with him and they were covering his position when he was bombing forward. So he was effectively playing as a #10

You're talking shit on shit on shit. He wasn't always in the box. He timed his runs to perfection and scored dozens from the "Lampard territory". In one word he was probably the best b2b in Europe in that season.

Midfield are all about complimenting each other. Our functional partnerships are:

  • Santi & Coquelin
  • Santi & Xhaka (at home)
  • Santi & Elneny
  • Coquelin & Xhaka
  • Ramsey & Xhaka
  • Ramsey & Elneny
  • Xhaka & Elneny

If Coq plays with Ramsey our midfield becomes mundane, same with Coquelin with Elneny. Xhaka & Santi are the only two with the ability to dictate the game from midfield, and one of each must start every game. Dependent on the opposition we're facing it can be both of them at home, to Santi - Coq in slightly harder matches, or even Santi - Coq with Ramsey out wide in tough away games.

Every centre midfielder we have is a major asset for a multitude of reasons, it's just important that one of Xhaka or Santi are fit at all times.

IMO Ramsey should be Ozil's backup, in the CAM (no. 10) position, where he excels for Wales.

Cazorla was a fantastic CAM in his first season at Arsenal, but he's developed his game to a level that he is now a versatile midfielder, a huge asset to Arsenal considering our style of play.

Xhaka needs to make the step-up and Arsene needs to trust him. Think this could be the end of Santi at Arsenal unfortunately, possibly the reason all along why we haven't offered him a new contract

It's all Wenger's fault. Why the fuck did he play him in that midweek game when there were plenty of well-rested options including Xhaka?

Fucking sinile fool. I hope Wenger leaves after this season.

Someone explain to this retard that Santi's ankle would have given in anyways...

Tbf Santi's achilles has been in the same situation for nearly a year now, think it was a very stupid decision to play him against Ludogorets too.

Cazorla is a massive loss. We have cover, but it's like replacing Ozil with Ramsey, just not the same. We've spluttered along since he's been out. Maybe Ozil will have to drop deeper now to compensate, but that just removes his influence in the final third.

Ozil deeper wouldn't work also because of his very low defensive abilities (will). It would result in too much pressure on CDMs and back4.
