Anyone know how this works? I've been a red member since 1911 but no progress to Silver.

I'm sure you didn't realy mean 1911, but you might as well have done!

It works like this - you are on a waiting list to become a silver member. There are tens of thousands of people in front of you on the list.

Because of many factors (eg. Junior Gunners automatically being offered Silver Membership when they reach a certain age, Silver Members never giving up their valuable memberships, and a limit to the number of Silver Members) the list moves very slowly, if at all.

Once upon a time, the club would tell you where you were in the list, nowadays they don't tell you unless you ask because people sussed out that they were going nowhere.

You can email them and they will tell you were you are in the list.

I'm currently at around about position 11,000. Five or six years ago I was somewhere between 11,500 - 12,000 can't remember exactly. At the current rate I will be a very old man, or quite likely in my grave before I get even a sniff of Silver Memebership.

This coupled with the frustrating and near impossible task of getting tickets as a Red Member means I will probably not be renewing my red membership this year as I have finally opened my eyes to the fact that it is a huge con (so you'll go up at least one place in the list!)

Best of luck with the Silver Membership, who knows, if you really have been a member since 1911 you might get there one day!

You should have had your Silver membership hand delivered to you by Chapman at some point in the early 30's.

I am pretty sure you need to have been offered a season ticket to become a silver member. But I there is very little info on how to acquire the different memberships so I'm not entirely certain

Would be surprised if they even had Red Memberships in 1911.
