Am I talking to a wall? Since Drogba left they haven't had a world class striker. Torres was bought from Liverpool who aren't Real Madrid or Barca or Bayern. Why aren't they buying a top top ready made striker from one of those clubs?

Torres was better than any striker them 3 clubs had at the time. If rumours are to believed they even had talks with Messi a year or two ago. Obviously they wouldn't be able to afford him. They might be rich but they can't afford to spend £250m at least then £400k p/w in wages for Messi.
