How Arsenal could line up with Alexandre Lacazette!!!

Posted by THE POLICE over 6 years ago · 8 replies

The Arsenal newboy faces competition up front after joining in a club-record move from French side Lyon — so how will Arsene Wenger use him?

Arsenal have completed the signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for a club record fee.

The Gunners have pursued the French international for several years and identified him as the man to bolster their frontline.

Arsene Wenger has a wealth of attacking options at the club, including Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Lucas Perez, yet Lacazette’s unique individual qualities make him an exciting addition to the Arsenal squad.

Lacazette is likely to play in a lone role up front, although Alexis Sanchez’s uncertain future means he could be a potential replacement for the Chilean if Alexis does decide to leave in the coming weeks.

As it stands, however, Arsenal will be able to play Alexis, Mesut Ozil and Lacazette as a front three next season.

The upcoming pre-season games in Australia and China will reveal more about whether Wenger will stick with a three-man defence next term, but it is unlikely to affect Lacazette, who should feature in a central role throughout next season.

The 26-year-old plays as a central striker and uses a mixture of strength and pace to beat opposition defenders. He played on the left and right flanks early in his career, making him a versatile option for an Arsenal squad used to varying positions.

Giroud has been linked with a move away from Arsenal but there remains the option for Lacazette to play up front alongside another forward, with Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott also available for selection.

If Alexis were to leave this summer, this is how Arsenal could line up without the Chilean — with Lacazette having the responsibility of being the leader in attack.

To be honest I'd rather sell Bellerin to Barcelona for £40m, put that £40m towards a world class CM, stick with the 3-4-3 and give Ox his long overdue first team stint in a position where he absolutely shines. If Ox gets injured we can revert back to 4-2-3-1 and have Chambers at RB, or look to the academy for backup until Ox is back (both Bramall and Pleguezuelo can play RB if I recall correctly).

The term 'World Class' scares me literally.. even average players and one season wonders are worth close to £80m nowadays...

If Ox gets injured, we should have a backup to play with same 3-4-3 formation which gives us the results we want..

No
Uh, "no"...

Couldn't we also run a 3-4-1-2 with the back line and midfield the same, Ozil at CAM and Sanchez and Lacazette at the 2 strikers? It's almost the same but Ozil has more of a creative role in the center of the attack, with Sanchez and Lacazette both providing threats up top

Our attacking players are so fluid that we're not really playing a specific system up front. Ozil glides into #10 position, Sanchez goes wide or central, etc...it's really more like a 3-4-X-X-X where X is fluid.

Plenty of options though, the market is saturated so they won't cost as much as strikers. I think we could easily get someone like Kroos or Matic for £40m. Not that they're world class but would be solid additions to bolster our central midfield.

I don't think Matic will be in the category of World Class.. Kroos, ofcourse Yes.. But why would he leave Madrid at the moment to join Arsenal???

Goretzka or Isco would be a good addition to the midfiled, since Cazorla will not be ready to play soon enough..
