The almighty 2016-2017 summer transfer window thread

Posted by Ix Techau about 8 years ago · 586 replies

Yarmolenko is starting to talk about Everton being a better fit form him than Barca because he wants to play regularly rather than "take selfies with Messi". Never thought he would even think about leaving, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Unless he goes to Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea of course, then I'll claim I never really wanted him.

Agreed, I doubt they'll leave anytime soon. No reason to.

Oh it's not like there's other clubs who can offer the same/more wages we do but also actually show ambition and desire to compete for trophies.

It's almost as if Cesc, Nasri & van Persie didn't leave us for the exact same reasons

I don't think it's the same thing.

Fabregas left because he's a disloyal cunt and his hometown team was the best team in the world. We made him a world class player and built a whole team around him. If Barca hadn't been dominating he wouldn't have left Arsenal.

Nasri has always been an ungrateful attention-seeking assclown, but the problem is that we never found a good position for him in our system. He wanted to be a #10 but was awful at it, and when playing on the flanks he had a hard time tracking back. We let him go partly because he wasn't a good fit.

Van Persie left because he realised we won't be able to start spending properly within a timeline where he was still young enough to be a first-choice striker. He had one more good season in him (at Man Utd), then spent the rest of his career going full retard and last I checked he is a third-choice striker in Turkey.

Ozil and Sanchez don't seem to have any of these issues. They both seem like they are happy at Arsenal.

Sanchez is absolutely unhappy at Arsneal. And he has every right to be unhappy. There have several incidents that illustrated it clearly. He's off next summer.

Alexis Sanchez is bigger than Arsenal. Because he has passion, desire, ambition, hunger for success. Arsenal don't have any of that. The only ambition Wenger and Gazidiz have is to maximise Kroenke's income.

Alexis would have achieved alot more at clubs like Bayern, Juventus or even Man City.

That fee haggling with Valencia aver Mustafi is kind of understandable.

The reason they do it is to maintain a reputation of tough negotiators. To send a message to any future clubs they have to deal with.

But it's getting beyond stupid now. It's really hurting the season.

...according to?

Of course, he doesn't say it openly.

He once stormed out of the stadium and drove off after being substituted. The game hadn't even finished.

His body lsanguage, whole demeanor has changes a lot since he arrived. He used to be enthusiastic and passionate, now he mostly looks frustrated. He doesn't fit into this system playing alongside Ozil the fraud.

For example on social media he used to post stuff about Arsenal, like "come on gunners" and crap like that. Now he only posts about his dog and Chile.

In the beginnig of the summer there were reports that Juventus inquired about him, Arsenal gave a proce of £35m. Then retracted it, said he's not for sale. That speaks volumes.

I think he might still leave this summer. Maybe there'll be some kind of swap deal for Lewandowski or something similar. I don't mind, I just want Alexis to be happy again, and not have to play alongside Giroud and Ozil again.

Alexis and Ozil would have signed new bumper deals with arsenal if they were not considering bailing. After a 4th consecutive transfer window spent ignoring the gaping holes in the first team (dm, cf, winger, cb) while sitting on piles of cash, I would not blame them for their hesitation to commit to this sham of an organization.

So we're speculating.

He once stormed out of the stadium and drove off after being substituted. The game hadn't even finished. His body lsanguage, whole demeanor has changes a lot since he arrived. He used to be enthusiastic and passionate, now he mostly looks frustrated.

Maybe he's frustrated with himself for not being able to perform as well as he wants?

He doesn't fit into this system playing alongside Ozil the fraud

sigh™

In the beginnig of the summer there were reports that Juventus inquired about him, Arsenal gave a proce of £35m. Then retracted it, said he's not for sale. That speaks volumes.

Arsenal would give a price of £35m in this market for Alexis Sanchez? Would never happen in a million years. It's what Man City bought John Stones for. In this market Alexis Sanchez would cost a minimum of £60-70m, regardless of whether he wants to stay or not.

I think he might still leave this summer. Maybe there'll be some kind of swap deal for Lewandowski or something similar.

Not gonna happen.

I don't mind, I just want Alexis to be happy again

Maybe. Or their agents are just holding out for the best deals. Even mid-table twats like Vardy and Mahrez pull that shit.

After a 4th consecutive transfer window spent ignoring the gaping holes in the first team (dm, cf, winger, cb) while sitting on piles of cash, I would not blame them for their hesitation to commit to this sham of an organization.

Well I agree, but I still don't think it's going to happen.

IMO Alexis is not the kind of player who would work well in Arsenal. He lacks footballing Intelligence which is a must in Arsenal and tries to cover it with a lot of hard work, dynamism, decent finishing and a hunger which makes him run like a horse for all 90 minutes. As a side effect Arsenal's fluidity is lost.

That is the reason we take more chances to score a goal. His Less Intelligent Dynamism ( along with Ramsey's, and AOC's(centrally) and walcott's to an extent) stops Arsenal's fluidity in moving the ball to the final fourth. This gives a lot of time for opposition to get back and scoring the goal gets more difficult and blame falls on Giroud, Walcott.

I think we should pounce on the opportunity to sell him if we can upgrade him with a better player and only one name comes to mind: Griezmann.

Idiot wenger claims other teams are hanging themselves with big wage bills attached to big name transfers. How can the man who is responsible for 80k/week to Arteta, 65k/week to diaby, 85k/week to Rosicky, 100k/week to shitstain Walcott, 90k a week to one-legged Jack, and 160k a week to himself dare to call other teams profligate with wages?! Outrageous.

Zlatanis a fraud. He will join a Premiership side and I will come back to remind you all of what I said.

When are we getting this reminder? After he puts 4 past Cech?

Around half way through the season he is 34 too old to last a season playing week in week out. He is the only top class striker at man utd rashford is too young to lead the line for too long

Nacho, per, and Kos are all out of contract after this season. How is wenger planning on maintaining "squad harmony"? By giving new contracts to 31 year old defenders? This is why prices on defenders are jacked up for arsenal. Wengers recklessness is the reason for their troubles, yet he uses it as an excuse.

I don't know if it's true, but that's what's been reported "According to the Italian, the Gunners had originally placed a £34.1 million asking price on the forward, but then changed their minds when Juve made a bid of that amount." http://metro.co.uk/2016/07/09/juventus-director-reveals-arsenal-have-told-him-alexis-sanchez-transfer-isnt-possible-5997076/

Are you an Alexis supporter or an Arsenal supporter?

I am literally a couple of weeks away from burning all my Arsenal shirts and everything Arsenal related. I've long had this feeling that Arsenal is dead. It's a purely money-making enterprise, has no ambition to win. Kroenke said it himself, that he didn't buy Arsenal to win trophies. And he has no plans to sell up either. With the new TV deals every club in the PL is super rich, so Arsenal don't even need to qualify for CL, they just need to stay in the PL to make Kroenke $$$$$.

If by the end of summer they don't buy the players the team needs, I will burn everything Arsenal related that I own and piss on the ash that remains. I've grown to despise the manager, that senile delusional fool. I've grown to despise the club's loser mentality, softness, weakness, bottling it every year. The owner who doesn't give a shit about Arsenal's success, or about football in general (or soccer, as he calls it),

It's excruciating to watch the team play too. Too many players playing out of position, lack of quality in key areas, lamp-post Giroud up front, Ozil the fraud as n10, frustrated Alexis. The transfer policy is a shambles. Going from RVP to Giroud was fucking unbearable and still is.

It's probably time to end this agony and stop supporting a club that only cares about making profit and treats its fans with contempt.

In fact, they don't even need fans any more. They can afford to play in front of an empty stadium, not sell any merchandise and still rake in huge profits from TV revenues. Who the hell are you to them? Just a tiny nothing piss ant.

Premature ejaculator. Giroud scores in that type of matches for fun. I sometimes think Arsenal fans aren't Arsenal fans... If our players scores against those teams you will say it was easy and meaningless. Zlatan does it and its as if he's singlehandedly beaten Barcelona away... Terrible stuff.

A. Juventus said Arsenal made it clear Alexis isn't for sale. Stop posting every crap you read on the net.

B. If you feel that way about Arsenal, goodbye and good riddance.
