When you have the ball in the modern game you have to attack, when you don’t have the ball you have to defend. All the players who can’t do that, cannot play
Translation: players who can't both attack and defend can fuck off. It's taken Wenger more than ten years to reach this conclusion. This is most likely why Walcott hasn't gotten too much playing time after coming back. And probably why Giroud is always preferred as CF.
I think the reason Walcott hasn't been starting lately is because Bellerin is behind him and he obviously needs protection. If Debuchy wasn't injured, I honestly think he'd get more playing time.
This is good though. It'll make him a better player defensively.

I think this is also costing us massively. You can guarantee if Theo started against Monaco he would've have a brace within 20 mins. It made no sense to bench him for that game considering Kurzawa was injured and so was Feirrera-Carasco. Martial was a threat but was nullified by Bellerin most of the time.
It was a huge and poor decision by Wenger not to start Theo that day.
