I can see this could be a big problem if using an ever-changing source, but wouldn't Premierleague.com be quite consistent? In my expirience the page has, at least looked, the same over the last couple of seasons. I can even imagine they keep their page from changing throughout a season exactly for the purpose of providing a stable fixture feed for their clients (not sure what the correct term for TV-channels would be here).

Actual clients would most likely get a JSON feed though, they wouldn't be scraping the site. It's not a massive problem...as you say, it doesn't change that frequently. Wouldn't be surprised if there's an RSS feed out there for fixtures even.

I love the badges. They're so good.

Maybe we could submit our own if you give us guidelines to keep to?

In general, we could have badges for, top goalscorer in a season, most expensive player, cumulative trophy wins?

Maybe have a managers section to supplement the squad page?

Just added 'held captaincy' badges for players (not live yet), now looking into trophies won as well.

Hah! That's a cool idea. Putting it in my list.

Will we get comment(newest, oldest, most voted) sorting ?

When do we get back down voting Simen Comments ?

I know you didn't wanted categories, but how about tagging topics. Tab (or on the new side panel) that show topics from what you have recently read. Topic that have tag Wilshere or it have wilshere in the topic. This way can navigate in all transfer topics easy, or all match day topics.

Maybe will be nuisance to tag, but maybe tag can be taken in consideration from comments in that topic.

Or it will be too much of a hassle for feature few will use.

I've thought about it, definitely. One cool feature I've seen in a few places is that just under the original post we show the three "best" (most +1) comments in the thread. This would only work if people start using the +1 functionality though, and probably would only be helpful if we have way more active people.

Another problem with sorting by "best" is the confusion when people sort by best and then respond to those comments, everything will become time-independent. The solution to that would be to have Reddit style nested comments where all responses to a comment belongs to that specific comment. But then every comment would become like a mini-thread, and perhaps take away from the forum feel.

I think it would be more helpful to start with a site search, and then perhaps look into grouping posts. Matchday threads should probably become special cases.

Woah, the "On This Day" feature at the top of the homepage is very cool indeed. Looking forward to coming back to see what's new there every day.

Perhaps could get a small social boost by putting a 'tweet this' button next to it.

Good idea! I was thinking about creating events, too. Stuff like 'Arsenal beat Man Utd at Old Trafford to win the 2001-2002 Premier League title'. Fun dates and such.

Polls look cool, but there is no clear way back to the previous page once you have voted

Yeah there should be a 'back to polls' button somewhere, I just didn't want to clutter that interface too much.

Easily the most requested feature of all time haha. Also one of the more difficult things to code. Not as straightforward as one might think. The only solution I can come up with is that every time you open a post, a timestamp is created that also includes the number of comments at that point in time.

Problem with this is that if we have 100 users + 1,000 posts, there would be 100,000 database rows just to keep track of who has read what = site would be super slow.

I am still looking into it, need to find a clever solution that doesn't hurt site performance.

Ooo nasty. I'm on the same Firefox as you and can't replicate it though...although looks like you're on a retina display? I'll see if it has to do with that, cheers.

I get the same bug, but only sometimes. I took a screenshot a couple of days ago, but I've been to lazy to upload it. I'm on some sort of firefox too, but I'm too lazy to check which one.

Bottom line: I'm lazy

I support this button. The interface is harder to use as it is now. I'm probably never headed back that way unless its easier to use. There should also be some way to see how many people have voted, and maybe an ability to comment on the polls. On the "biggest prick" poll I wanted to comment to say that it was lacking Mourinho as an example.

I would also like that the button to the "unread posts"-page should be clickable even if there are no unread posts. With the current userbase this is the only page I actually use frequently.

My last request is that the "newest" page has an option to sort both in newest topics and in newest comments. I have trouble finding back to topics I've used earlier once I have exited them.
