Strikers

Posted by VA10 over 8 years ago · 157 replies

I was thinking about the lack of strikers today. Is there a striker like Aguero, Suearez or Lewandowski available? Even Benzema isn't as good as them in my opinion.

TIL half a season is 26 games and scoring 20 goalsAtm everyone at Chelsea are shit, they'll pick it up sooner or later and leave us in the dust along with City

Why so negative about Arsenal?? We were expected not to finish in top 4 if first half last year and then we almost got the second one. #positive-vibes mate

"Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club rejected a lucrative offer for Thomas Muller during the last transfer window"

United probably. Offer had to be somewhere between 70-80m. They were told to fuck off as Bayern want a quality striker, not money.

had likes of Benzi, Lewa and other TOP class players been available Manure would have priced us out on most of them. They were desperate this summer but i hope the new additions there meet the same fate as Di Maria and Falcao did.

you're just assuming facts which support your contention... rejecting a transfer offer does not mean that any and all transfer offers would be rejected.

Finally someone gets it.

I was told "Chelsea didn't want the likes of Benzema and Lewandowski" if that isn't "assuming facts which support your contention" then I don't know what is....

I don't know why you're finding this so hard to understand: £70-80m obviously wasn't enough to let him go. Somehow you equal this to Bayern saying no to any amount, even £200m+, for Muller. Are you seriously suggesting they'd say no to £200m+?

Regarding Man Utd and Benzema, obviously they weren't interested, as they could have gotten him for the cash they paid for Martial. Real Madrid would take £60m for Benzema every day of the week. Firstly because he's not that important to them, secondly because they don't have a lot of cash nowadays, and thirdly because they have plenty of options on their radar. One of which includes building a war chest to put towards Aguero.

Your posts are getting more and more ridiculous. Of course United would have wanted Benzema what are you even talking about.... Benzema not important for Real Madrid is stupid as well. 200 million for Muller isn't offering more than he's worth, it's offering 3 times as much he's worth and this debate started with us signing available strikers to which you suggested everyone was available we just didn't offer enough. If offering 200 million pounds for Muller sits in realistic transfers in your mind, then I'm done debating.

I know. That's what we're arguing about. See in Ix's world everyone can be bought. There's no such thing as he wasn't for sale or the player didn't want to move like it was the case with Benzema.

Apparently they didn't.

I'm glad you finally agree that you are wrong. Muller would move to Man Utd for £200m. Whether that's realistic or not is beside the point, which is: every player is available for the right price.

Paul Pogba turned down a £62m move to #CFC. On @BBCOne now.You think they didn't want him in the end? Or they couldn't afford him?

They obviously didn't offer the player what he wanted? If they did, he would be a Chelsea player. Why are you finding this so hard to understand?

Apparently they did but he wasn't for sale (Benzema.)

And no I'm not wrong. You're getting lost in your own senseless ideas. I never said 500 million pounds wouldn't get you Benzema. Our point was about if strikers were available for Arsenal this Summer.

This was your brilliant rant:

I can't believe Wenger would go a summer without signing at least two first team players. Especially now with all these resources. Not only do I find it improbable, but it would be a huge setback for this club if we end up signing no one. For years people said we needed a DM, Wenger did nothing. And then finally he brought Coquelin back from loan, and all of a sudden the team clicked. So the fanbase has proven him wrong on several occasions, and yet he argues his experience makes him right. We need to improve the squad in several areas, but most importantly in the striker position. We should have enough cover for worst case scenario in other areas, but striker is the glaringly obvious position we need to deal with. And don't give me the 'who's available' argument: they all are. If you have enough cash you can buy any player on the planet, including Messi and Ronaldo.

Notice the "Don't give me the 'who's available' argument" part. And remember this is you speaking about our Summer. So 200 million pounds for Muller doesn't support your initial point whatsoever.

How about Icardi? he could be an asshole but he is a world class striler (and asshole) he could be arround the 30-40 million marks and he would score 20+ goals in a PL season

Yes exactly, notice that section. I say "if you have enough cash you can buy any player on the planet". You still can't grasp that sentence.

Point is we can't sign a top class striker. But in your fantasy land we could it's just that Wenger is a masochist. And no, you're not an idiot sandwich, take it easy on yourself.
