The almighty 2016-2017 summer transfer window thread

Posted by Ix Techau about 8 years ago · 586 replies

Yarmolenko is starting to talk about Everton being a better fit form him than Barca because he wants to play regularly rather than "take selfies with Messi". Never thought he would even think about leaving, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Unless he goes to Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea of course, then I'll claim I never really wanted him.

I don't really give a crap abt the summer transfer window. If they fail to win the league this year, they will have to worry more about their own elite players leaving, rather than acquiring new players.

Doubt it. The players are so close to a title challenge that they will feel it's perfectly doable as long as they work harder. If we were way off the top then yes perhaps some of them would have second thoughts. But let's be realistic. We're not even close to the disaster of Man Utd or Chelsea, and their star players are staying.

These Özil to Barca rumours are ridiculous.

  1. Why would Özil want to leave and go from king to squad rotator?
  2. We paid €50m for him, imagine what Barca would have to pay to get him.
  3. Why would Barca want to sign a former Real Madrid star? Rarely happens.
  4. Why would Özil want to play in a system with no traditional #10? They would just stick him on the flank or in a withdrawn CM position.

Or in other words:

Barca couldn't afford him anyway. They couldn't get Nolito who had an 18m euro release clause and can't afford to renew the contracts of Messi, Suarez or Neymar.

Cech; Bellerin - Per/Gabs - Kos - Nacho; Coquelin - Santi/Rambo; Wilshere - Özil - Alexis; Ibrahimovic

Dear God look at that forward line. Never happening, but Ibra is now pipping the dream Verratti in deals I want most to happen now.

Mahrez/Fekir/Isco + Krychowiak

Yes please!

Yarmolenko

I'd take him in a heartbeat too.

On the striker front I want Lewandowski. Lol.

Ibra is a great striker but the all stadium wouldn't be enough for his ego (PSG will probably give him another year anyway). And I would like someone younger!

Also: Griezmann & Varane.

Giroud

So, basically, a Bunch of players who would never even consider coming to arsenal.

Yep. It's my wishlist, it doesn't mean I think it will happen! ;)

Independent reporting that Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer.

Unsurprising really considering his severe lack of development since he joined, he's the exact same player. Oodles of talent & physical ability but no footballing intelligence and no sign of progression.

Would prefer to give him a loan rather than completely writing him off but if there's a good offer made we'd be silly not to accept it.

Ox, Walcott, Ramsey, Flam, Per, Arteta, and Rosicky all need to be sold/let go this summer.

Lol Arsenal booty. Walcott has to go imo, no improvement over 10 years. Ox is at least still young. Theo is at the age where he should be a consistent senior performer.

Cech; Bellerin - ??? - Kos - Nacho; Coq/??? - ???; Wilshere/??? - Özil - Alexis; ???

Need at least 3 players in the summer with a minimum of 120m invested. Unless we go for Ibrahimovic.

A new manager wouldn't do much harm either.
