The almighty 2016-2017 summer transfer window thread

Yarmolenko is starting to talk about Everton being a better fit form him than Barca because he wants to play regularly rather than "take selfies with Messi". Never thought he would even think about leaving, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Unless he goes to Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea of course, then I'll claim I never really wanted him.

I think it's more likely that Ozil and Alexis force their way out than wenger actually sacks up and sells Walcott and ox.

I don't blame them if they do force their way out. Especially Ozil. He is clearly far beyond the level of his teammates, and is being held back by being a part of Arsenal.

How long before a Chinese club tests our resilience? Would we say no to a £100m bid for Sanchez or Özil?

They are too young for China. Özil is already practicing his chinese though.

Yep... I think we'll have offers from Bayern, Juve & City this summer. And they all seem more appealing than us...

I think Bayern is unlikely, since Ancelotti sold him at madrid.

Juventus has been keen, and he would fit so beautifully there, especially if they manage to keep Pogba and Morata away from the vulture clubs.

This season has proven some things... Firstly we're missing a decent right winger, to solve that problem I'd bid 30 million quid for Mahrez. Secondly Santi's injury showed us how important a deep lying playmaker is for this club. Ramsey isn't that of course. Now it depends how Santi returns and how he'll play next season, if he's good then fine but if not a bid for Isco sounds tempting but I'd risk on Jack having an injury free season and dominating our midfield. Apart from these issues I think we're alright. I rate Welbeck quite highly and Alexis will finally have a rest plus a preseason with us so I expect 25-30 goals from him.

The place Wilshere needs to play is RW but anyone relying on him now is an idiot. I personally believe he will be relatively injury free (all of his injuries have come from tackles & impact injuries) but I wouldn't be willing to risk having someone as poor as Ox on the wing for the season just because we hope that Jack'll stay fit. Secondary playmaker like Isco/Mahrez or even adapting Fekir to play there would be ideal.

And yeah, a ball playing CM is absolutely vital. We'll be getting a CM when hopefully Flamini & Arteta leave and someone in the mould of Verratti, Gundogan, Kroos, Xhaka etc must come in.

A striker is an absolute must as well but I'm not overly optimistic that we'll address the problem as we probs won't spend what it needs to get someone like Higuain.

There's another Copa America this year so unless he's absent from the squad for some reason, Alexis will be playing in that.

His best performances have come there in the last couple of years. Has everything in his locker to be a wide midfielder on the right.

Don't trust him from deep and we should be getting a Verratti/Gundogan/Kroos to play there anyway

bullcrap his best games came from deep playing for England.

Different systems.

Think him playing deep just to recycle possession isn't getting the best out of his assets. Secondary playmaker on the right suits him a lot more with his style of play.

I think that wilshere out on the right wing suits both him and arsenal in their current starter quite well. They have nothing to lose playing him there if he manages to make a comeback this season.

Don't really see an issue on the right wing. Joel Campbell deserves to get a long spell on that flank, let's see what his potential is. Regarding Wilshere's position, the hint is on his back. He'd be a perfect Coutinho-esque #10. Intricate little triangle plays, bombing forward, never scared of taking on the opposition.

Campbell usually runs out of gas after an hour, whereas mesut and alexis can easily finish off games. I think, even with Campbell emerging in the right, it's a spot where a regular substitute is needed.

Wilshere, if he ever manages to not break his body by being way too intense, would be great as cover in all 5 midfield positions. Perhaps he is best as a Jack of all trades supersub?

Would rather Zlatan guaranteeing WC performances for 2 years then see what the striker landscape is looking like than punting £50/60m on Lukaku

Somehow get a feeling that Zlatan wouldn't want to come and Wenger perhaps also doesn't want a potentially tricky character in the dressing room. I hope I'm wrong tho.
