Posted by Ix Techau about 7 years ago · 461 replies

Squad rules terminology refresher:

  • We can register up to 25 players who are over 21
  • We can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players
  • Homegrown player means 36 months spent in England before end of season in which they turn 21
  • U21 player means any player born on or after January 1st 1996
  • U21 players don't have to be registered in order to play, which means we can have as many as we want

Confirmed transfers in/out:

  • Lacazette has signed for a club record £46m initial fee
  • Sanogo left on a free transfer on June 30th
  • Kolasinac joined on a free transfer on July 1st
  • Ospina has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Lucas Perez has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus for £10m

Likely transfers in/out:

  • Debuchy leaving has been on the cards for some time
  • Jenkinson could go on another season-long loan or permanent move
  • Unless said in jest, Wenger did say he wants to bid on Mahrez

We need the Ox. If there is someone who is better than Ox in every category and is younger and cheaper, then sell him because we need him at RWB to compete with Bellerin so Bellerin doesn't get off easy if he has some bad form.

With Alexis, if we are able to buy someone better, then sell him for what I heard PSG offered 70 million so we can fix other problems like a pivot that is reliable like Santi when he plays and not out injured all the time.

On second thought, if we get an overpriced offer for him, then we will just give him away (unless maybe it is a rival) and allow opportunities to the likes of Maitland-Niles and Nelson.

BARCA COULD TURN TO OZIL

Barcelona could turn their attention to signing Arsenal's Mesut Ozil if they are unable to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, Don Balon claims.

With Neymar's future up in the air regarding a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalan side are having to look at alternatives to the former Brazil captain.

Coutinho is said to be atop their wishlist if his countryman does leave for PSG, but Barca believe they could prise Ozil away from the Emirates for a fee of around €60 million and have a dig at Real Madrid – the German's former club – in the process.

LUCAS PEREZ HANDS IN FORMAL TRANSFER REQUEST

The Spanish attacker wants to leave Arsenal but the Gunners are refusing to let him go for less than £13.4 million (€15m)

Arsenal have slapped a £13.4 million price tag on want away striker Lucas Perez after the Spaniard handed in a formal transfer request to leave the club, his agent has confirmed to Goal.

The 28-year-old has cut a frustrated figure at Emirates Stadium since arriving from Deportivo La Coruna last summer and struggled for game time despite scoring seven goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for Arsene Wenger's side.

Arsene Wenger targets Arsenal transfer exits as he admits the squad is too large

Arsene Wenger admits his overloaded Arsenal squad is in need of a trim as he enters the final weeks of the transfer window.

Arsenal have made several first-teamers available for transfer this summer, including Lucas Perez, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs and Joel Campbell, though a major injury means the latter is unlikely to leave.

This is progress from a long time ago when we kept a lot of flops in our squad. Wenger is getting rid of them to make room for better players.

Some years ago, we could of gotten Xabi if Wenger hadn't put so much faith in the midfielders we had that turned into flops.

We've displayed excessive-prudence with new buys (in the past), but poor follow-up with being strict with the boys we've retained and believed to have potential in, which resulted in where we are now.

And the fact that we've yet to get existing players sign new contracts is making fans feel uneasy.

"New Season, similar problem"

Get Lemar across the line.

WILSHERE WANTED BY NEWCASTLE

Newcastle United are determined to land Arsenal outcast Jack Wilshere in the current transfer window, according to the Sun.

The midfielder was left out of the squad for the Gunners' 4-3 win over Leicester City on Friday but insists he was fit to play. And with Wilshere resigned to leaving the Emirates Stadium Newcastle are set to pounce, in a move that will calm Rafa Benitez's nerves after a quiet window so far.

Chelsea closing in on £35m Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as reluctant Arsene Wenger considers sale

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out selling Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud in the transfer window but he is yet to make the same assurance over Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is now in the final year of his existing contract.

Standard Sport understands no fee has yet been agreed but negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and the Blues have received sufficient encouragement to believe a transfer is possible.
