Posted by Ix Techau about 7 years ago · 461 replies

Squad rules terminology refresher:

  • We can register up to 25 players who are over 21
  • We can register a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players
  • Homegrown player means 36 months spent in England before end of season in which they turn 21
  • U21 player means any player born on or after January 1st 1996
  • U21 players don't have to be registered in order to play, which means we can have as many as we want

Confirmed transfers in/out:

  • Lacazette has signed for a club record £46m initial fee
  • Sanogo left on a free transfer on June 30th
  • Kolasinac joined on a free transfer on July 1st
  • Ospina has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Lucas Perez has asked to be put on the transfer list
  • Wojciech Szczesny has joined Juventus for £10m

Likely transfers in/out:

  • Debuchy leaving has been on the cards for some time
  • Jenkinson could go on another season-long loan or permanent move
  • Unless said in jest, Wenger did say he wants to bid on Mahrez

Reading some of the suggestions that were posted here... Looks like Arsenalreport has finally gone full retard. Bring back Cesc? Young players will look up to him? To who? The cunt who stabbed us in the back? Cretins.

I think we should keep faith in Szczesny. He is still young and already doing well despite the hit and miss 2014/15 season. He's improving and we will be kicking ourselves by getting rid of him.

Also, he is able to create chances with his passing which is better than Cech.

Already missed out on Pickford... Donnarumma may be?

Donnarumma said he wants to stay in Milan. Honestly I think we'll be fine if we keep Cech as No. 1 and take Szczesny back from Roma.

Szczesny's a great keeper but he still hasn't won back favour with Wenger, and Ospina could be on his way out. Donnarumma would be a great buy, he's young talented already has experience in the Italian national squad. Could be quite pricey though.

So... Aubameyang now on the cards?

Doubt it. Lacazette fits Wenger's tactics better, and he's younger and slightly cheaper. I like Aub, but I doubt Wenger will go for him.

For a future, let's go get some young Nigerians because, from the look of it, they are exporting a lot of talented players and for a good price too.

Ex: Iwobi, Nwakali, Iheanacho, Musa, Ndidi, Onyekuru, Omeruo, Abdullahi, etc.

Likely XI next season: Cech; Koscielny, Mustafi, Nacho; Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac; Özil, Lacazette, Alexis.

Back up XI: Martinez; Gabriel, Mertesacker, Holding; Ox, Coq/Elneny, Fornals/Ceballos, Gibbs/Nacho; Welbz, Giroud, Iwobi

Not really convinced by Lacazette but that's a pretty fucking strong team if we manage to hold onto Alexis & Mesut. Think another big name signing is unlikely unless Alexis leaves, then I think we'll bring in Lemar

I wish that big name signing would be a Striker... Auba, Morata (still his ManUtd deal is dragging) ???

Think Ox might challenge bellerin for that RWB 1st team position, but either way, that's a good looking team (assuming we hold onto both Alexis and Ozil and actually sign a striker this time)

ARSENAL TARGET BUTLAND

Arsenal have made Stoke City's Jack Butland their No.1 goalkeeping target to replace Petr Cech, according to Bleacher Report.

After missing out on Jordan Pickford to Everton, the Gunners have now switched their attention to England international Butland as they prepare for life after Cech.

The feeling at the Emirates Stadium is that the 2017-18 campaign will be Cech's last at the club, and they will continue to monitor Butland if he cannot be signed this summer.

ARSENAL MULL OVER MARTIAL

Arsenal will turn their attention to Manchester United forward Anthony Martial if they miss out on Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, according to Mail Online.

The Gunners face missing out on their top target to Real Madrid, with Martial and Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette among those under consideration as alternatives.
